UN climate change talks

Governments, scientists and big business were meeting in Poznan, Poland for United Nations climate talks.

Caritas Internationalis was there with our Secretariat staff and with representatives of Caritas members from Europe, Asia, and Africa. Caritas Internationalis and CIDSE will launch a joint campaign for an effective and socially just new global climate change agreement on Sunday, 7 December 2008 during the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Poznan.

"Changed rainfall patterns, harsher storms and longer droughts are already costing lives and livelihoods," said Bishop Theotonius Gomes, President of Caritas Bangladesh.
