Food crisis in South Sudan
East Africa was hit by a massive food crisis in 2009. Drought and an explosion of food prices caused 23 million people to suffer from hunger. Caritas Switzerland is helping 10,000 people in the southern Sudanese region East Equatoria until the next harvest.
