27-29 January 2010 2nd Meeting of the Working Group on Trafficking in Persons UN Office at Vienna,Board Room B, 1st floor, M-buildingVIC The Conference of the Parties (CoP) established an interim working group to assist the Conference in the implementation of its mandate with regard to the Protocol to Prevent, Suppress and Punish Trafficking in Persons, Especially Women and Children.
The working group should meet during the Conference 5th session and should hold one intersessional meeting before that. This 2ndwill focus on: analysis of key concepts of the Trafficking in Persons Protocol (i.a. Art 14.2 of the Protocol); good practices and tools in discouraging the demand for exploitative service; non-punishment and non-prosecution of victims of trafficking: administrative/judicial approaches to offences committed in the process of trafficking; and good practices and tools for case management.

17-21 May 2010 UNODC: Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice, 19th session UN Office at Vienna, VIC The Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice mandated priority areas are: international action to combat national and transnational crime; promoting the role of criminal law in protecting the environment; crime prevention in urban areas; and improving the efficiency and fairness of criminal justice administration systems. Aspects of these principal themes are selected for discussion at each annual session of the Vienna-based Commission.

2-18 June 2010 ILO – 99th session of the International Labour Conference Palais des Nations, Geneva The member States of the ILO meet at the International Labour Conference held every June in Geneva. The Conference has several main tasks, including the adoption of international labour standards in the form of Conventions and Recommendations.   The upcoming sessions will, in particular, look at the drafting of a Convention on the rights of domestic workers. It supervises the application of Conventions and Recommendations at the national level. It examines the Global Report prepared by the Office under the follow-up procedure required by the Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work (1998).

UNHCR Annual Consultations with NGOs ICCG, Geneva The three-day Annual Consultations with NGOs involve dialogue on a variety of subjects of interest to NGOs and UNHCR. Each year over 200 representatives from more than 150 organizations attend the consultations. National, international, UN, and advocacy organizations (including those specialized  in resettlement) participate. CI International Conference on Women and Migration "The Female Face of Migration"

Saly, Senegal Aims of the conference:

To create in-depth understanding of feminization of migration, to discuss the increasing participation of women in migration flows, new possibilities that it offers to women in their human development and development of their families, and challenges they meet during their migration process.

To showcase the benefits of female migration as well as identify challenges and gaps in policies.

To become aware of the worldwide experience and that of Caritas in supporting and empowering migrant women, especially when their rights are abused, by sharing expertise of Caritas network and other NGOs.

To elaborate a position paper that asks for necessary changes in migration and other relevant policy areas to take the needs of women into account.
