Martina Liebsch is the coordinator of the migration and trafficking advocacy team at CI. She has been working with Caritas at different levels for 24 years. Her main function is to ensure a coherent and coordinated advocacy of the Caritas Confederation on Migration issues of global concern, such as addressing the root causes, protecting human rights, supporting women and fostering legal and safe migration. Maria Suelzu has worked in the CI Advocacy Department for eight years mainly providing organizational support to the head of department and the international delegates in New York, Geneva, and Rome. She was also responsible for the advocacy update “Pressing Issues” sent to member organizations in English, French, and Spanish. Last October she started to work as advocacy officer on Migration, the Feminization of Migration and Trafficking in Human Being supporting the Migration Team and Martina Liebsch in her coordination work. Karin Keil is the delegate of Caritas Internationalis at the UN System in Vienna. She has been advocating on Anti-Trafficking issues at the UNODC (United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime) in Vienna. Karin serves as Head of Caritas Austria’s Department for Refugees and Migration Affairs and is a member of Caritas Europa’s Migration Commission.







Francesca Merico is working at Caritas Internationalis - Geneva office, in January 2007. At the United Nations and other intergovernmental organizations based in Geneva, she works on advocacy around migration, health and HIV and AIDS. On migration and trafficking, Francesca Merico follows closely the activities of the Office of the High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the International Labour Organization (ILO), the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, the UN Human Rights Council and the Committee on the Protection of the Rights of Migrant Workers and Members of their Families.
