3 - 5 March 2009 UNHCR - 44th meeting of the Standing Committee Palais des Nations, Geneva ExCom's Standing Committee meets three times each year to carry on the ExCom's work between plenary sessions. UNHCR, governments’’ representatives,  NGOs and UN Agencies take part in these meetings.
2-27 March 2009 Human Rights Council: Report of the RSG on IDPs and Report of the SR on trafficking The Council will examine, among other issues, the report of the Special Representative of the UN Secretary General on Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), and the report of the  United Nations Special Rapporteur on trafficking in persons, especially women and children. The presentation of the reports will be followed by the Interactive Dialogue with the SRs.
15-24 April 2009 UNODC: Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice, 18th session UN Office at Vienna, VIC The Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice mandated priority areas are: international action to combat national and transnational crime; promoting the role of criminal law in protecting the environment; crime prevention in urban areas; and improving the efficiency and fairness of criminal justice administration systems. Aspects of these principal themes, incl. the UNODC Global Programme against Trafficking in Human Beings and UN.GIFT are selected for discussion at each annual session of the Vienna-based Commission as well as related side-events.
20 April - 1 May 2009 Committee on the Protection of the Rights of Migrant Workers and Members of their Families Palais Wilson, Geneva The Committee will review the report on Colombia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Philippines  and Azerbaijan. It also will prepare the list of issues for Sri Lanka and Algeria.
2-18 June 2009 Human Rights Council: Report of the SR on Migrants; Report of the SR on violence against women; Annual full-day meeting on human rights of women Palais des Nations, Geneva The Council will examine, among other issues, the report of the Special Rapporteur on Migrants and the report of the Special Rapporteur on violence against women.
The presentation of the reports will be followed by an Interactive dialogue with the SRs.
The Council will dedicate a full-day meeting on the human rights of women.
3 - 19 June 2009 ILO – 98 Session of the International Labour Conference Palais des Nations, Geneva The member States of the ILO meet at the International Labour Conference which is held every June in Geneva. The Conference has several main tasks, including:
The crafting and adoption of international labour standards in the form of Conventions and Recommendations. The upcoming sessions will, in particular, look at the drafting of a Convention on the rights of domestic workers.
It supervises the application of Conventions and Recommendations at the national level.
It examines the Global Report prepared by the Office under the follow-up procedure required by the Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work (1998).
It is a forum where social and labour questions are discussed. The Conference also passes resolutions that provide guidelines for the ILO's general policy and future activities.
23 - 25 June 2009 UNHCR – 45th meeting of the Standing Committee Palais des Nations, Geneva ExCom's Standing Committee meets three times each year to carry on the ExCom's work between plenary sessions. UNHCR, governments’’ representatives, NGOs and UN Agencies take part in these meetings.
29 June - 1 July 2009 UNHCR Annual Consultations with NGOs Palais des Nations, Geneva The Annual Consultations with NGOs now runs over three days and involves dialogue on a wide variety of subjects of interest to NGOs and UNHCR. Each year over 200 representatives from more than 150 organizations attend the consultations. Participants include representatives of small and large, national and international, UN, and assistance and advocacy organizations (including those specialized in resettlement). It provides an important forum for NGOs to raise issues, network, and exchange views with UNHCR.
14 September  - 2 October Human Rights Council (Geneva) The Human Rights Council is an inter-governmental body within the UN system made up of 47 States responsible for strengthening the promotion and protection of human rights around the globe
15 - 16 September 2009 UNHCR – 46th meeting of the Standing Committee ExCom's Standing Committee meets three times each year to carry on the ExCom's work between plenary sessions. UNHCR, government representatives, NGOs and UN Agencies take part in these meetings.
17 - 19 September 2009 Migration Forum of Caritas Europa Warsaw, Poland  The 6th Caritas Europa Migration forum will address the challenges and risks related to international mobility of workers such as protection of migrant workers’ rights exploitation of undocumented workers. Member organizations will be invited to have a debate on the issue with external experts and to contribute to selecting Caritas Europa advocacy priorities for the coming years, in the area of labour migration.

28 September - 2 October 2009 UNHCR - 60th Session of the Executive Committee Palais des Nations, Geneva Currently made up of 78 members, UNHCR's governing ExCom meets in Geneva annually to review and approve the agency's programmes and budget, advise on international protection and discuss a wide range of other issues with UNHCR and its intergovernmental and non-governmental partners. ExCom's Standing Committee meets several times each year to carry on the body's work between plenary sessions.

UNHCR – Third meeting of the High Commissioner’s Dialogue on Protection Challenges Palais des Nations, Geneva This year meeting will focus on urban refugees. The participants are member states of the Executive Committee and observers to the Standing Committee; states with a special interest in the topic; non-governmental and inter-governmental organizations and experts.The discussions will not be structured to elicit formal or agreed outcomes. The objective is to have an open and free exchange of views between all stakeholders in a combination of plenary and break-away sessions. The High Commissioner will provide a summary of the discussions and highlight elements for follow up.
