Up to half a million young people will be in Madrid from 16-21 August 2011 to take part in World Youth Day (WYD). It’s an opportunity for young people from around the world to celebrate and deepen their knowledge about their faith

Caritas Spain will represent the Caritas confederation at World Youth day. They will promote Caritas projects and will be responsible for one of the tents where the Eucharist will be celebrated at the Cuatro Vientos aerodrome on the night of 20-21 August.

Pope Benedict will attend WYD and while there will celebrate Mass and hear the confessions of young people. Caritas President, Oscar Andrés Cardinal Rodríguez Maradiaga, S.D.B, will also be part of the celebrations.
