Membership of Caritas Internationalis is open to national charities approved by their Church hierarchies and authorized to represent all charitable organisations of that country.

Membership is also open to national organisations that have been authorised by their episcopal conferences and international development organisations recognised by the Vatican.

Future members must provide the appropriate authorisation, request for affiliation, and also an activity report from the previous year showing their work and their approach to their work.

On submitting the necessary documentation, the Executive Committee of Caritas Internationalis will approve those becoming Associate Members.

Final approval is by the General Assembly of Caritas Internationalis.

Membership means that you become part of one of the biggest charity networks in the world, can shape the work of the Confederation at a regional and international level, can benefit from joint advocacy, humanitarian relief, communications, peace building, and integral human development initiatives, and see your work integrated into the Universal Church’s promotion of human development.

For more information on becoming a member, please write to The Secretary General, Caritas Internationalis, Palazzo San Calisto, Vatican City State. 00120 or see our official Statutes.
