What your money buys

16 Euros (22 US Dollars) to feed a family with emergency rations in India for a month. Floods can affect millions of people a year in India. Caritas fed 270,000 there with your support in 2008. We’re one of the biggest providers of food aid in the world.
 
70 Euros (100 US Dollars) to provide clothing for a family’s children in the Democratic Republic of Congo who’ve been forced to flee war. But Caritas is also supporting peace initiatives at the national and local level to end over a decade of war that’s cost five million lives.
 
85,000 Euros (120,000 US Dollars) to build a cyclone shelter in Bangladesh for 10,000 people. It also doubles up as a school. Ask the parents of Baby Sidr how important these shelters are? She was born in one during killer Cyclone Sidr in 2007 and it saved her life and her mother’s too.
