What we do
To serve, accompany and defend the poor around the world

Caritas is about more than daily survival. Our work is about ensuring the poorest and most marginalized are the driving force in our emergency response, sustainable development and peace building. To achieve this, we focus on five key areas:

WWD-ConflictsandDisasters

The Caritas confederation has been responding to emergencies for more than 60 years. It’s a job Caritas does well – drawing strength and skills from its worldwide network. Caritas also invests in the future – building resilience in areas prone to natural disasters and fostering peace to prevent conflict.

Caritas believes this is an affront to human dignity and advocates for the right to nutritious and sufficient food for all. With climate change deeply affecting the ability of the world’s poorest people to feed themselves, Caritas organisations work together to practically and politically change the situation.
