Emergency appeals (2009-2013)

The Caritas Internationalis confederation seeks to use its funds as wisely and efficiently as possible, helping the most vulnerable people in countries rich and poor.

Money spent by Caritas member organisations comes from private donations such as church collections, legacies, individual donor programmes, trust funds and corporate sponsorships.

Governments and international and multinational organisations also contribute substantial funding to Caritas’s work.

When disaster strikes, Caritas members appeal for funds to carry out their emergency work, saving lives and livelihoods.
