Crisis in Ukraine

Civil war in Ukraine has led to a humanitarian crisis. At least 1.3 million people have left their homes, five million people are in need of assistance and thousands of people have been killed.

Caritas provides people with food, water, medicine, boilers, support to mothers and children, including trips to summer camps and the creation of child-friendly spaces and trauma counselling.

Caritas mobile teams take essential items to conflict victims on both sides of the border between government and non-government controlled areas in eastern Ukraine.

Caritas would like to increase aid to Ukraine to respond to increasing needs but only one third of the money needed to support programmes this year has been donated.
