Caritas in Latin America & Caribbean
The Caritas Latin America and Caribbean region covers a vast geographical area with great cultural and economic diversity. In many of the countries in the region, Caritas has a long history of working for the poor – over fifty years – tackling natural and man-made disasters and providing healthcare.
Working together, the members of the Caritas Latin America and Caribbean region focus on peace, social and economic justice and safe migration.

CARITAS UPDATES FROM LATIN AMERICA & CARIBBEAN
On 8 March 2015, International Women’s Day, Caritas Internationalis and the Fidel Goetz Foundation will award two 10,000 euro prizes to honor women who have been “sowers of development,” working to end hunger in their communities.
Lent is a time in which we are called back on our path to follow Christ. It is a time when we are called to renewal and when we are invited to reaffirm our relationship with brothers and sisters as one human family.
Pope Francis reminds us that Lent is an invitation to renewal for the Church and among the faithful. To be able to respond to this invitation, Pope Francis warns us against the ‘globalisation of indifference’.
