The agency helps people displaced by violence: in 2006 it was part of a multi-agency initiative assisting 2,000 people in Markounda, Bodjomo, Bemal and other villages.

Caritas CAR also provided a depot for food and non-food items in Markounda and helped to distribute provisions provided by the United Nations World Food Programme.

The agency works with people living with HIV and helps to improve their access to anti-retroviral drugs. This work is essential in a country where 10 percent of people aged 15-24 are living with HIV.
