Caritas Switzerland provides emergency disaster relief and cooperates with partners around the globe to implement reconstruction projects and promote sustainable development. Among other activities, it provides special services for peace-building, micro-credit and institutional development and produces regular publications on humanitarian themes.

Caritas Switzerland also runs the Fairtrade organization, which markets products from developing countries at fair prices, and the Clothing Centre, which collects clothing for emergency relief.
