Caritas Haïti works through its nine diocesan offices in support of programmes of emergency assistance – food support, distribution of medicines and care for the poor and dispossessed – and community-development projects such as micro-finance and livelihood support with a view to enabling people to take control of their lives and develop a stable economy.

Caritas Haiti works to develop local organisations to give communities the capacities to achieve stability and justice, particularly for marginalised groups. The organisation is particularly concerned with developing the education, skills and leadership capacities of women.
