Caritas Lebanon supports a variety of humanitarian, social and development programmes that focus on needy and vulnerable groups: these include victims of conflict, refugees, migrants, needy children, orphans, widows, the elderly and the addicted. Much of its recent work has been emergency response in the aftermath of conflict, which has had serious effects among the Lebanese people.

In addition to its support for needy groups, Caritas Lebanon also participates in projects to enhance agricultural production, develop livelihoods in rural areas and broaden the social roles of women. It also runs centres offering assistance and advice on issues such as hygiene, maternal health and HIV/AIDS.
