The Canadian Catholic Organization for Development and Peace supports initiatives to enable people in the South to take control of their lives and education, advocacy and fund-raising work in Canada. Typical projects involve peace-building, human rights, agrarian reform, education, community development and economic justice. Much of the work of Development and Peace is carried out in collaboration with Canadian and international partners.
Last year, Development and Peace sent $ 11,2 million to the South for 234 development projects and $ 4,7 million for 43 emergency relief projects.

Development and Peace builds awareness in Canada about the causes of poverty and injustice in the world. Inspired by the values of the Gospel, particularly "the preferential option for the poor", DEVELOPMENT AND PEACE invites Canadians to participate in actions to bring about change. Through our education campaigns and in the struggle for human dignity, Development and Peace collaborates with social change groups in the North and South.
