As South-East Asians increasingly migrate overseas in search of work, there is concern over the growing number of family members, particularly children, left behind in the home countries.

Through a combination of awareness-raising programmes, radio outreach and training, Caritas Nepal is working to prevent human trafficking, unsafe migration and violence against women along some of Nepal's border areas.
Almost 21 million people are the victims of trafficking. The vast majority are from Asia and are women. Christian organisations supported by Caritas Internationalis are working together to combat trafficking.

Caritas is marking International Women’s Day on 8 March by celebrating the work of women farmers around the world.
Groups involved in the three-year Caritas programme will reach 425 households in 21 villages across Tongatapu and Vava’u to the north.
