Help us bring food and hopes to our sisters and brothers in need.

The severe economic crisis exacerbated by the pandemic and containment measures is having dramatic effects especially in the poorest countries. The latest data are alarming. Today 270 million people are at risk of starvation, 130 million more than last year.

In 200 countries in the world Caritas is fighting food insecurity not only by donating food, but also by empowering people so that they are able to produce their own food and also by creating the conditions for food security. Caritas feeds the most vulnerable, the elderly, children, migrants, the refugees, the displaced. Caritas promotes sustainable agriculture, so the world’s poor won’t need to rely on charity. Caritas strives to create conditions for food security, addressing causes such as climate change and environmental issues.

Our support is vital, our action is urgently needed for alleviating sufferings and bringing new hopes, supporting food distribution and promoting long term strategies of food security for millions of people.

In today’s world, brought to its knees by the pandemic, solidarity is no longer an option: it is a means of survival. Millions of people depend on it.
