Caritas Oceania brings together highly diverse members from the larger and smaller islands of the Pacific.
These include Caritas Australia, Caritas Papua New Guinea, Caritas Samoa, Caritas Aotearoa-New Zealand, CEPAC (Caritas Pacific Islands) and Caritas Tonga. Together, they work on climate change, emergency response, peace building and development – both in their own countries and in other parts of the world.
The Holy Father reminds us that Lent is the season of hope. It is this hope that we nurture together that helps us believe that “history does not end with our mistakes, our violence and injustice, or the sin that crucifies Love. It means receiving from Jesus’ open heart the Father’s forgiveness”.
