WORKING TOGETHER FOR WOMEN’S LEADERSHIP

A month of inclusive listening, dialogue and action on the road to empowering women and securing equality for future generations.
#CaritasforWomen

Throughout the month of March 2024, Caritas Internationalis is exploring the transformative potential of women’s leadership and participation for the Confederation and for society more widely.

Equality, Encounter, Renewal: Working together for women’s leadership is a month of promotion of the work being undertaken across the Caritas Confederation to empower women, and examination of what more men and women can do, together, to open the door to women’s leadership and ensure that women can take their rightful place at the table, from the grassroots to governance levels.

The month’s actions have a particular focus on institutional commitment, partnership, collaboration and cooperation at national, regional and global levels of the Confederation and with external stakeholders

"When Women can transmit their gifts, the world finds itself more united and more peaceful."

Pope Francis- 1st January 2020

Caritas has launched a new resource:  Equality, Encounter, Renewal: A Caritas commitment to the promotion of women’s leadership and participation, based on the Holy Scriptures and Catholic Social Teaching values and principles,  which explores how the Catholic Church’s teachings support the participation of women in leadership and decision making.

This resource provides a tool for Caritas, the Church and communities to creatively engage in a process of learning, listening and dialogue in order to work together for women’s leadership and participation.
