Caritas Europa brings together 49 Caritas organisations, working in 46 European countries. Together, they focus their activities on poverty, social exclusion and inequality as well as migration and asylum.
Based in Brussels, Caritas Europa brings the voices of its members to European institutions, EU member states and many other public and private partners.
Caritas Europa also provides emergency humanitarian assistance and operates development projects all around the world.

Caritas Updates from Europe
More than one million children have fled Syria as refugees. Children who used to feel safe in their homes and schools have lost everything. Some have been injured, others have seen their parents killed or arrested. Most have heard planes circling, tanks rolling by, and machine-guns going off.
Expanding access to HIV treatment globally and strengthening the role of faith-based organizations in the provision of such services will be the focus of a consultation, co-organized by Caritas Internationalis and UNAIDS, to be held at Hotel Il Cantico, in Rome, 25-26 February 2014.
